What is IAAP?
The world’s largest association of administrative professionals. IAAP offers professional development, leadership training and networking opportunities for administrative professionals. IAAP is a non-profit, volunteer association.
Why do administrative professionals need an association?
Joining a professional organization demonstrates your commitment to your career. Work is most rewarding when we do it with enthusiasm and give it our best. Through IAAP you will gain knowledge, confidence and contacts that will help you advance professionally. IAAP works to build a professional image of administrative professionals in the workplace.
Who can join?
IAAP membership is open to all persons working in the administrative field, along with business educators, students, firms and educational institutions. There is no test of sponsorship required. Through IAAP qualified professionals can test for the certification rating, the benchmark of excellence in the administrative profession.
Where and when do you meet?
The Rancho Cordova Chapter of IAAP meets at Rancho Cordova City Hall, 2729 Prospect Park Drive, on the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m.
Is there a cost to attend a meeting?
There is a minimal $20 cost to attend our Chapter meetings. Breakfast and coffee service is included, and provided along with an educational component to each meeting for this fee. Typically, our educational component is provided by a guest speaker. We also have a brief business meeting during breakfast as well.
How much does it cost to become a member?

What do I get with a membership?
Volunteering is not a requirement of membership; however, volunteering is encouraged. Many members find that taking time to help out at events is a way to increase confidence, create a large network of peers, learn new skills, and feel good about themselves. There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the membership year.
How do I find out more?
It’s a self-study certification program achieved through a two-day exam administered each May and November. There are four parts: Finance and Business Law, Office Systems and Administration, Management and Organizational Planning.

- Professional – An employed administrative assistant or other qualified office professional, or a holder of the Certified Professional Secretary® (CPS) rating, or an employed teacher of business education. $ 120
- Associate – An individual, firm or educational institution that sustains the objectives of IAAP. $ 170
- Student – A member who is enrolled full-time as a student of business education. $ 40
